Billie Jo's Story
Life
Okay, I finally found the only high school picture I have that wasn't a yearbook picture. So if you click on "then" you'll see what I really looked like, at least in 1967. I was painting sets for "My Fair Lady", that year's school play.
I lived in K.C. after graduation for N.K.C.H.S. in 1968. I didn't go to college, worked a a couple of different jobs, i.e., a bank, department store personnel office, etc., then started a career in modeling for a few years (don't look at the yearbook picture or you won't believe it), before I discovered the hotel industry.
I went to work when the Crown Center Hotel opened in 1973, and found my niche in that industry. I worked at Crown Center Hotel until 1976 and then moved to L.A. and transferred to the Century Plaza Hotel. I worked at a couple of others also over a total of 20 or so years.
I then went to work at Warner Bros. Studios for 8 years. I retired (early) for 5 years, and then opened a needlework store in Burbank, which I just closed after a little over 4 years.
I've been married for 20 years, with no children, but 3 golden retrievers and 1 cat.
I would love to see my old American History Teacher, Dan Jennish-he was inspirational.
Favorite way to relax is snow skiing, then reading, or doing some needlework.
The Green Bay Packers is my favorite football team, as we have a long family history with them. My father was born in Green Bay, the rest of us in Milwaukee.

en retrievers, Murphie, Katie, and Gabbie-the best dogs in the world. My oldest golden, Murphie just passed away on 3/4/10, just 3 months shy of her 15th birthday.
If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to charity, then spend the rest on friends, animal rescue and family..
My current age is 59. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old farts. I was so completely wrong..
After H.S., I was into mini skirts and then moved to the classier longer dresses, no friils, classical styles. Levi's are still my favorite jeans!
I share my home with my husband, which I find wonderful..
My oldest friend is a girl I met working at Crown Center Hotel on the Front Desk. Why we clicked, not a clue, we just did! She lives and works now in San Francisco.
My first job was at a bank, where I got paid $2 hr. to run errands. What I remember most about it is it was a stupid job..
Too many wonderful ones to list.
I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
I relax by reading about 4/5 books a week, and doing needlework. I also just started doing Tai Chi.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Tom Pappas, because he & his wife were great influences in my life..
My sports passion is my football team, the Green Bay Packers. Forget reality TV-it sucks. and my pets, Katie and Gabbie, our Golden Retrievers and Augie our cat.
